HOW STORY TELLING SPARKED A MOVEMENT

Created by Storytellers for Change grant winner Miracle Blaise and produced by Melanin Unscripted in partnership with our impact platform Rise in Light and the Cervical Cancer Free Nigeria (CCFN) campaign, this film sheds light on the critical need for cervical cancer education, prevention, and early detection in Nigeria.
"Collaborating with Melanin Unscripted and Rise In Light on Perfect Woman was a dream come true. Their passion for storytelling and social impact was inspiring and essential in bringing this message to life." — Miracle Blaise, Director, Co-Writer, and Producer of Perfect Woman
A Story of Strength, Sisterhood, and Empowerment
Filmed in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, Perfect Woman follows the emotional journey of Ebiye and Lavender, two women bonded through their shared experience with cervical cancer. Their story challenges harmful myths about the disease and highlights the importance of early detection and community support.
The film stars Nollywood veteran Tina Mba as Dr. Wunmi, a guiding figure for the protagonists, alongside rising talents Mfon Akpan as Ebiye and Uduak Akpabio as Lavender.
